She invites him to the metaphorical edge of the cliff, leading him to enlightenment. In Kayce's spiritual journey, he sees an unknown women who may be the spirit of the wolf that's been visiting him. John hugs Summer good bye and promises that they'll continue to fight. John urged her to trust the jury rather than the judge, who wants her in jail, and as expected the judge sends her to prison after a lengthy tirade against environmentalists. At her hearing, Summer agrees to a guilty plea for a lighter sentence without jail. He awakens to the sound of coyotes yipping. Kayce gets a vision of the wolf that he's been seeing before falling into a memory of his time with the military, embroiled in battle and watching his comrades die. Rip, used to her spontaneous and wild ways, agrees to get married right there but makes her wait while he grabs Lloyd to be his best man and his mother's wedding ring that he's been holding onto. Beth tells her dad that she has to do something tomorrow and wants to be a married woman when she does it. Lloyd calls him a cowboy and the men share a hug as he wishes Jimmy good luck.īeth arrives home to a worried family and tells them to join her outside where she has decided the wedding will happen immediately. Beth leaves the man without having sex, instead giving him a long-winded speech about wanting him to live until he's 100, broken and miserable in a prison cell. The guy identifies Jamie as the person responsible for putting in the assassination request. At the prison, Beth meets with the guy who arranged to have the Duttons killed in the conjugal visit room. While the judge promises to take his account into consideration, he tells John that she's going to prison regardless, it's just a matter of how long. John speaks with a judge on Summer's behalf to try to get her out of prison. Emily asks for a bottle of whiskey and joins in at the poker table, with the wranglers seemingly impressed with how she's handled herself. Emily jumps in to fight her off and the women throw fists until Jimmy pulls Mia off of his fiancée and walks her outside. Mia almost immediately gets up and throws a punch at Jimmy. Jimmy and Emily walk in and Jimmy introduces her to the wranglers as his fiancée. In the bunkhouse, the wranglers are playing a high-stakes game of poker that includes Mia for the first time since John asked all the women to leave the Yellowstone. Beth heads out to the field and asks Walker questions about visiting people in prison, including how to sneak in a weapon. She says she's been a friend to him but you only get one mother and no one can replace that role. Beth drives over to visit with the cowboys and passes by Carter, who calls her "mama." Initially, Beth responds naturally to it, then hesitates and tells him not to call her that.
